18th amendment : PML N stressed on devolution of power,PPP calls it a threat
PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah Khan and Ahsan Iqbal said that the party intends to implement the amendment in its spirits and wants to complete it by introducing further devolution of powers.
In a response to PPP’s concerns about 18th amendment, PML-N General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal said that PML N had no plan to roll it back.
“In fact, the 18th Amendment is an incomplete mission, as it devolves power from the Center to the provinces but it stops there and there is no word of any further devolution.”
Iqbal said they would complete the devolution of power by taking it to the lowest tier of the governance, i.e., the local government. “This is on our party’s agenda.”
PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah in response to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s criticism on PML- N leadership said that said (PPP) they have the right to attract voters by taking anti-PML-N stance. “I hope this political rivalry remain civil and the PPP will not resort to foul language and adhere to political norms.”
Show-Cause to Daniyal Aziz :
The PML-N on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to former party lawmaker from Narowal Daniyal Aziz for allegedly violating party rules.
It says Aziz’s remarks (about party secretary general Ahsan Iqbal) have not only breached the party discipline but also tarnished its reputation. Aziz is asked to file a reply within seven days.
Aziz had criticised Iqbal holding him responsible for inflation. Aziz asked why Iqbal could not control record-breaking inflation when he was the chairman of the Price Monitoring Committee.
Due to his incompetence, the PML-N government had completely failed. It is learnt that Aziz is not happy over the distribution of tickets in his area and has a grudge against Iqbal in this regard.
