PPP – ANP to form electoral alliance in Karachi & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) are open on forming an electoral alliance and seat adjustments in Karachi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the upcoming February 8 general elections.
ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President Aimal Wali Khan met PPP Parliamentarians President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at the Zardari House Islamabad a day ago.PPP leaders Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and Faisal Karim Kundi were also present on the occasion.
Sources reveal that both parties, PPP and ANP, have agreed to sustain their political interactions.PPP and ANP are likely to form seat adjustments in Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Malakand, Mardan, Karak, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan), say sources.
Both parties acknoledged eachothers strong vote bank in 20 constituencies in KP. In upcoming meetings, discussions will include seat adjustments and collaboration on various levels, involving political parties, independent candidates, and more.
Earlier in the month, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leadership decided not to make seat adjustments with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) in the upcoming general election 2024 and termed it a ‘loss trade’.
