Pakistan’s longest freight train
The Pakistan Railways has run the longest freight train of its history.
A railway spokesperson said that the longest freight train consisted of 50 coaches having a length of 2500-feet.
He said the historic freight train was driven by a very powerful engine.
The spokesman further said that the goods rail laden with over 3,000 tons of goods was operated between Karachi and Kotri. The train ran at a speed of 60 km per hour while its average speed was 38 km.
The longest freight train has the capacity to carry more weight than 94 two-wheeler trucks. The freight vehicle will also reduce traffic pressure on the roads and environmental pollution.
