Software engineer kills boss over unpaid salary

KARACHI: In a shocking incident, a software engineer in Karachi killed his boss, the CEO of a software company, over unpaid salary.

Shoaib Khan, who had recently quit his job due to non-payment of his salary, returned to the office and stabbed Naveed Khan, the CEO, during a heated argument.

The CEO succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

According to police reports, software engineer Shoaib Khan has confessed to the crime, stating that he was owed three months’ worth of salaries, which had led to his resignation. The incident appears to be a spontaneous act, as Shoaib did not bring a weapon to the office and used a knife available there.

“Shoaib Khan has been arrested on murder charges,” SHO Tariq Mehmood told media.

“He confessed to stabbing the deceased after a heated argument over three months of unpaid salaries, which had previously led to Shoaib’s resignation.”

The victim, Naveed Khan, is survived by his wife and three children, including a newborn son just ten days old. His brother, Imtiaz Khan, who works at the same company, witnessed the incident and rushed his brother to the hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.

Last Sunday, in Sindh’s Naushahro Feroze district, a father was arrested for burying his daughter alive.
