CTD foils major terrorism plot against 8th Muharram procession

A terrorist who was planning an attack on an 8th Muharram procession in Karachi has been arrested, Counter Terrorism Department said Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, DIG CTD Asif Ejaz Sheikh said that Mohammad Shoaib, a terrorist of banned TTP Dara Adamkhel, has been arrested.

He said the terrorist, who was planning an attack on the 8th Muharram procession, was arrested from Ittehad Town.

The DIG said that when the terrorist came to Karachi, he joined the network of banned TTP.

A lot of details have been received from the arrested terrorist while a suicide jacket was also recovered from his position.
