Eight die as rains wreak havoc in different parts of the country
Rains have wreaked havoc in different parts of the country as there is a flood situation in many areas, while the low-lying areas of many districts of Punjab have come under water.
Eight people lost their lives in various accidents due to rain in Faisalabad, Narowal and Rahim Yar Khan cities of Punjab.
In the hilly areas of Koh-e-Sulaiman in Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan, rivers overflowed due to heavy rain.
In Toba Achakzai, Toba Kakadi, Qila Abdullah, Pashin and Ziarat areas of Balochistan, crops were damaged by floods while 10 people were injured when walls and solar panels collapsed.
In Chaman, the railway track was washed away in floodwater, while in Nushki, the railway track got cracked due to which the Pak-Iran railway link was also cut off.
A 70-feet wide breach occurred in the canal near Garhi Khairo in Jacobabad area and the paddy crop was submerged.
Meanwhile, there was heavy rain in Khairpur, Sukkur and suburban areas.
According to the report, 180 mm of rain was recorded in Sukkur and electricity was suspended in many areas due to the rain.
Apart from this, after heavy rains in South Waziristan, floodwaters wreaked havoc entering Jandola Bazar due to which agricultural lands were also damaged.
Due to heavy rains, Vana Gomalzam Road has been closed at many places due to landslides and traffic flow is affected.
