PTI’s Sher Afzal Marwat arrested outside parliament

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police on Monday arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat outside parliament house, GTV News reported.

A scuffle reportedly broke out between Marwat’s supporters and the police during the arrest.

The PTI leader resisted the arrest and asked the police to show arrest warrant.

Sourced within the Islamabad Police revealed that more PTI leaders would be arrested and personnel are deployed inside and outside Parliament.

Following Marwat’s arrest, other PTI leaders and parliamentarians decided to remain inside the Parliament building to avoid arrest.

The development comes hours after police in Islamabad filed cases against the PTI leadership for failing to conclude last night’s rally on time.

The cases were registered under the Public Order and Peace Act.
