APS attack survivor Ahmed Nawaz honoured with British Empire Medal

Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS) attack survivor, Ahmed Nawaz, has been awarded the prestigious British Empire Medal by King Charles III for his tireless efforts in promoting youth welfare.

In a heartfelt social media post, Nawaz expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am deeply humbled to receive the Hon. British Empire Medal (BEM), one of the UK’s highest honors.”

He said that this award signifies the defeat of terrorists who target education and serves as a testament to the resilience of those affected by the tragedy.

On December 16, 2014, the APS attack claimed the lives of 132 students and several teachers. Survivors like Nawaz continue to face lifelong challenges, but his dedication to youth welfare has inspired countless individuals globally.

Messages of congratulations and support have flooded in from around the world, acknowledging Nawaz’s unwavering commitment to creating positive change.

It is pertinent to mention here that British Empire Medal (BEM) is one of the highest honours awarded in the UK.
