Govt jacks up LPG prices for October
The government has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs7.31 per kilogram, according to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification.
Following the hike, the new price of LPG for October has been set at Rs251.30 per kilogram.
With the latest increase, the 11.8 kg domestic cylinder will now be available at Rs2,965 per cylinder.
The price adjustment comes as part of the government’s monthly review of energy prices.
Meanwhile, petrol price in Pakistan are likely to witness another drop from October 1, as the federal government is considering to pass on the benefit of lower global oil rates to consumers.
The rates of petroleum products are likely to be slashed by Rs1 to 3 per litre. However, the final decision will be taken by PM Shehbaz Sharif.
In the international market, Brent crude oil prices have dropped by approximately $0.50, settling at around $72.27 per barrel, while US crude prices have fallen by 37 cents.
Regarding current fuel prices, the government had announced a price cut effective from September 16, 2024.
