ASP Shehrbano dismisses claims of Lahore college student’s ‘rape’
Punjab police have dismissed allegations of a female student being raped at a private college, stating that no victim has come forward to report the incident.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Defence Shehrbano Naqvi clarified that the alleged victim was hospitalized 10 days prior to the claimed incident due to a fall at home.
Medical records and hospital admission records are available to support this.
The police initially arrested a security guard accused of the rape but later found no evidence to prove the allegations.
The suspect denied the allegations, and the police urge anyone with credible information to come forward.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formed a seven-member committee to investigate the incident .
The committee will gather evidence and record statements from all parties involved.
Despite police clarification, protests continued for a second day across multiple cities in Punjab, with students demanding justice for the alleged victim.
