Rawalpindi railway station flooded with passengers amid PTI protest call
Amid the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest call, Rawalpindi railways station is flooded with passengers as all entry and exit points in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad closed Saturday.
Motorways and bus terminals leading to the twin cities have been closed to thwart PTI’s protest.
The closure is causing significant inconvenience for people who were travelling out of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Consequently, a surge in passengers has been witnessed at Rawalpindi Railways station. Many travelers have been unable to secure tickets due to the overwhelming crowd.
Moreover, a shuttle train service is available, thousands of passengers remain stranded and unable to reach their destinations, creating a backlog at the station.
Railway officials have assured that an additional shuttle train scheduled to depart today at 4pm.
