Gold prices rise in locally, globally
Gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant uptick on Friday, mirroring a rise in the international market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola increased by Rs2,100, reaching Rs277,300. The price of 10 grams of gold also saw a rise of Rs1,800, bringing it to Rs237,740.
This increase follows a decline in the previous session, when gold prices fell by Rs700 per tola on Thursday.
The international price of gold also saw gains on Friday, with the price per ounce rising to $2,661, including a premium of $20, marking a gain of $21 from the previous day.
Meanwhile, silver prices in Pakistan remained unchanged, holding steady at Rs3,400 per tola.
On the global front, while gold traded flat on Friday, it was on track for a weekly decline as markets awaited key economic data from the United States.
