Iran creates history with women only flight

An Iranian airline has made history by flying the first and one of a kind flight consisting only of women.

According to media reports, Shahrzad Shams, one of Iran’s first female pilots, landed a Sky Airlines flight at the airport in the holy city of Mashhad in eastern Iran.

According to reports, there were 110 passengers on the flight, while the report did not specify the departure place of the flight.

The plane, known as the Flight of Iran Bano i.e. Iran Lady, landed at Hashemijad International Airport in Iran’s second largest city.

Shrine of Imam Reza, one of the holiest sites, is located in the city.

The fully women’s flight coincided with the birth anniversary of Fatima al-Zahra, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad.

Although iran’s aviation industry has included some female pilots in recent years, this is unusual not only for Iran but for all Islamic countries.
