According to Indian media reports, while expressing his views during the “Mann Ki Baat” program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the year 2024, we are celebrating the 100th birthday of many great personalities of the film industry. These personalities gave Indian cinema global recognition.
The Indian prime minister further said that Raj Kapoor introduced India’s soft power to the world through films. Rafi Sahib’s voice had the magic that touched every heart. His voice was amazing.
He said that be it devotional songs or romantic songs, or painful songs, he brought every emotion alive with his voice.
Modi further said that his greatness as an artist can be gauged from the fact that even today the young generation listens to his songs with the same enthusiasm, this is the hallmark of timeless art.
It should be noted that Mohammed Rafi, the uncrowned king of the music world, was born with the talent of singing, which nature gives to someone.
Starting his journey with Punjabi songs from Lahore Radio, his passion for music brought him to Mumbai and then he started his career by singing in the movie Anmul Ghari.
Apart from songs, he also made people happy by singing ghazal, qawwali and bhajan. He was skilled in singing all kinds of classical, flamboyant and playful songs.
Mohammed Rafi sang more than 40,000 songs.
