Gold prices go up in local, global markets
Gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant increase on the first day of 2025, following a period of stability on the last day of 2024.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of gold per tola surged by Rs1,000, reaching Rs273,600. Additionally, the price of 10 grams of gold saw an increase of Rs858, bringing it to Rs234,568.
The APGJA attributed this rise in gold prices to an increase in global gold prices, which climbed by $10, reaching $2,624 per ounce.
This surge continues a pattern of rising gold prices seen throughout 2024, a year that witnessed a remarkable Rs52,600 increase in the price of gold per tola in Pakistan.
On the global front, the price of gold per ounce rose by 25.55% last year, equating to a Rs45,096 increase.
The steady rise in gold prices has had a significant impact on the market, with many anticipating further fluctuations as global gold trends continue to influence the local market.
