Gold prices surge locally, globally

Gold prices in Pakistan saw an increase on Thursday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs274,700 per tola, marking a rise of Rs1,100.

Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams climbed to Rs235,511, reflecting a gain of Rs943, according to the latest data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold also increased, reaching Rs215,885 per 10 grams.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged in the local market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,350 per tola and Rs2,872 per 10 grams.

Globally, spot gold traded at approximately $2,638 per ounce, marking an increase of $14.8, or 0.56%, compared to the previous session.

Gold prices have been rising, continuing the positive momentum from the record-breaking year of 2024, as traders anticipate the policy shifts under the new U.S. president-elect, Donald Trump, which are expected to influence economic conditions and interest rates in 2025.
