Trudeau rejects Trump threat to merge Canada into US
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has responded to the newly President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, saying that Canada will not merge with the US until the Day of Judgment.
Trump had earlier said that he will use economic force against Canada and that the country should become the 51st state of the United States.
He said that he would impose a 25 per cent tariff on Canadian imports.
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said that Trump’s statement shows that he does not understand Canada’s real strength and that the country will never bow to threats.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave a clear response to Trump and said that Canada will not merge with the United States until doomsday.
Apart from this, the Conservative Opposition Leader also said that Canada is a great sovereign country and it will never become the 51st state of the United States.
It should be noted that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced his resignation.
On January 6, Justin Trudeau said he would step down after the ruling Liberal Party elects a new leader.
