No respite as gold prices continue to increase in Pakistan
Gold prices in Pakistan saw another rise on Wednesday continuing the upward trend that has been observed in the global market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola surged by Rs1,000, reaching Rs277,000.
Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold saw an increase of Rs858, bringing it to Rs237,483. This follows a Rs1,000 per tola hike on Tuesday, when the price was recorded at Rs276,000.
The international market also witnessed a boost in gold prices. The APGJSA reported the global gold rate at $2,652 per ounce, including a $20 premium, reflecting a $10 increase on the day.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged in Pakistan’s local market. The rate for one tola of silver remained steady at Rs3,350.
The increase in gold price comes amid a period of volatility in the global markets, with investors seeking the security of gold as a safe-haven asset.
