Sanaullah says govt-PTI talks stalled due to NA Speaker’s foreign visit

08 January, 2025 23:45

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said the ongoing talks between the PTI and the government were stalled due to the foreign visit of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Addressing a press conference, the adviser to the prime minister said the NA speaker was on a foreign tour. He added that talks would resume as soon as Ayaz Sadiq returns to the country.

The two sides have held two negotiation sessions on December 27, 2024 and on January 2, 2025, respectively. However, the delay in the third round of talks sparked speculations about the future of the PTI-government talks.

Criticizing the former ruling party, Sanaullah said that PTI was spreading the “narrative of lies” on social media platforms.

Speaking about the PTI’s claims on causalities during the November 26 protest and facilities to jailed former prime minister Imran in jail, Sanaullah said that the party was spreading false propaganda deliberately.

Taking a jibe at the PTI, the adviser said the party shared a picture of a Palestinian ambulance on social media, claiming that their supporters were being killed.

He added that Aleema Khan had claimed that a plan was being chalked out to poison the former prime minister in jail.
