Good news for intermediate students in Karachi!

09 January, 2025 12:16

Students who got low marks in the examinations conducted under the Board of Inter Board Karachi (BIEK) staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club.

On behalf of the students, it has been demanded to correct the results and asked to form a committee in which the parents are also included. The students said they will not accept the scrutiny done in closed rooms.

The students alleged that the boarder officials were demanding bribes.

On the other hand, the chairman of intermediate edecution has assured to remove the concerns of students who are not satisfied with the results and has also announced to show them their exam copies.

BIEK Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah said that the children who applied for scrutiny, if they are not satisfied with the results again, they can come with their parents to check copies.

It should be noted that the intermediate results have limited the chances of Karachi students to go to professional educational institutions. In the pre-medical group, 66 per cent students failed and in the pre-engineering group, 74 per cent students failed.

Recently ousted Chairman of Board of Intermediate Karachi Amir Hussain Qadri defended the results saying that he says with full responsibility that these results are in accordance with merit. The results have been re-examined after receiving complaints.

A few days after the results, the Sindh government removed Amir Hussain Qadri for going abroad without permission.
