Modern media university to be established in Karachi

The Sindh government has announced plans to establish a modern media university in Karachi, aimed at promoting the region’s history and cultural heritage.
The initiative, directed by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will be developed under a public-private partnership model.
Mustafa Abdullah Baloch, spokesperson for the Sindh government, stated that the university will adhere to international standards in media education, research, and innovation.
It is expected to highlight Sindh’s historical legacy on a global platform and serve as a hub for progress, creativity, and cultural pride.
Additionally, the Sindh Chief Minister has instructed the Education Department to create the province’s first-ever Transgender Education Policy.
The provincial government had previously approved a job quota for transgender individuals under the Sindh Civil Servants Amendment Act, allowing them to access government jobs on merit or through a reserved quota.
A coordination mechanism is also being developed to assist Sindh students pursuing medical and nursing education in Kyrgyzstan, following discussions between Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah and Kyrgyzstan’s Minister for Education & Science Dogdorkul Kendirbaeva.
