Weather to remain dry and cold in most parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecasted that weather would remain cold and dry in different parts of the country.
The forecast also mentions rain, wind, and thunderstorms (with snowfall in the mountains) for isolated areas in Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, light to moderate fog was also expected in northeastern Punjab.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country.
The lowest recorded temperatures on Monday included Leh at -11 degrees Celsius, Astore, Gupis, and Ziarat at -6 degrees Celsius, Kalam and Kalat at -5 degrees Celsius, Bagrote, Skardu, and Gilgit at -4 degrees Celsius, and Parachinar and Quetta at -3 degrees Celsius.
The ongoing cold snap is expected to persist, with no significant changes in the weather pattern over the next few days.
The weather department has warned of the continued likelihood of heavy snowfall and lower temperatures in the high-altitude areas, urging the public to take necessary precautions.
