PCB gets special exemption from ICC to complete stadiums

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has granted special exemption to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to complete the ongoing renovation work at Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium Karachi.
According to report, usually the ICC takes control of the venues before the start of the tournament.
However, the cricket’s government body has given extra time to the PCB to complete the necessary renovation at all Champions Trophy venues in Pakistan.
Moreover, the ICC has also granted permission to the PCB to host tri-series matches – starting from February 08 – at the venues.
The series will feature New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan. The matches were initially scheduled in Multan, but the PCB shifted them to newly renovated Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium Karachi.
The reason behind moving the games to both venues, is to thoroughly examine the stadiums before the Champions Trophy, so the ICC has given special exemptions and supported them.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a video regarding the upgradation of Gaddafi Stadium, which shocked the Indian media and their board.
Earlier, the Indian media was constantly spreading negative news about the upgradation process of stadiums that if the renovation of the stadium is not completed, the ICC can move the tournament.
Moreover, the PCB is not allowing journalists to go to the stadium due to slow development work at The Gaddafi Stadium in National Stadium Karachi, Lahore.
