FATF will review Pakistan progress in June meeting until then Pakistan will surely remain on grey list of the international body.
However, Financial Action Task Force has acknowledged the steps which Pakistan took towards implementation of Action Plan.
The weeklong Financial Action Task Force Plenary meeting held in Paris.
Minister for Economic Affairs Division Hammad Azhar led Pakistan delegation during the meeting.
The FATF welcomed Pakistan’s high level political commitment.
FATF will review Pakistan progress
But it also highlighted the need for further actions for completing the Action Plan by June this year.
Moreover, FATF members agreed to maintain Pakistan’s status on FATF’s Compliance Document, normally referred to as the Grey List.
During the last reporting period, Pakistan has made significant progress in the implementation of FATF Action Plan.
Pakistan has completed nine additional action items.
The Government of Pakistan stands committed for taking all necessary action required for completing the remaining items in the Action Plan.
The country is implementing the strategy which it formulated in this regard.
FATF will undertake the next review of Pakistan’s Progress in June this year.
The body claims itself global terror financing watchdog.
FATF concluded February 16-21 group meetings and plenary in Paris.
According to a statement issued on Friday, the FATF also addressed Pakistan.
It hoped Pakistan would completely achieve all the targets by the next plenary meeting in June 2020.
In that meeting, FATF would analyse the country s compliance on its recommendations.
