Bangladesh student movement refuses to accept military rule in country

Naheed Islam, the Bangladesh’s leader of the student movement protesting against Hasina Wajid, has refused to accept the military government in the country.

The student leader said that they do not accept the government supported by the army in Bangladesh.

Leaders of the student movement, Naheed Islam, Asif Mehmood and Abu Bakar Mazumdar, released the outline of the interim government through a video message, demanding that an caretaker set up be established under the leadership of Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Younis.

The student leader said that the students have already spoken to Dr. Younis and he has expressed his willingness to play a role in the interim government, while the other names will be given today.

He said that the interim government of Bangladesh will be established in the next 24 hours.

Earlier, Naheed Islam had said that the student leaders will present proposals for an interim national government and will not accept any government that is formed without our suggestions and support.

The student leaders said that the representation of all, including the civil society, will be ensured in the national government.

Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Younis said in a statement that Sheikh Hasina Wajid destroyed the legacy of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh has got independence now.

135 people have been killed in riots on Monday alone in Bangladesh while hundreds have been injured. The number of deaths has reached 231 in just two days, while in Sherpur, rioters attacked a prison and made 500 prisoners escape.
