Bombshell related to Ex-ISI chief soon to explode, claims Mir
Renowned anchorperson and senior journalist Hamir Mir on Monday claimed that a ‘bombshell’ would soon explode related to former spy chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, who was detained on in the Top city case.
In a shocking development, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that that the former Lt Gen has been taken into military custody and the process of field general court martial against him has been initiated in the Top City housing scheme scandal.
“Appropriate disciplinary action has been initiated against the former spymaster under provisions of the Pakistan Army Act,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.
Reacting to the development, Mir told Geo News that he doesn’t have appropriate words use as there has been a bombshell which has not been exploded yet.
“The most… I don’t know what word to use, there was a bombshell which has not been exploded yet, but maybe it will be exploded in the coming days,” Mir said on Monday.
According to the military’s media wing, the action was taken following the Supreme Court orders into the case.
During the live transmission, he journalist claimed that last year some pieces of evidence were received against the spymaster as the “DG ISI tried to get some journalists and politicians killed”.
“Some evidence has also been obtained about this. A few days ago, the government got to know about him that he was still in contact with some PTI leaders and was trying to dictate them,” the analyst said.
He went on to add Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed is being investigated under three matters at the moment.
The talk show host also claimed that the former ISI DG was under house arrest.
“His freedom proved to be difficult for him as his contacts were being monitored and it was found that Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed had a role in May 9, 2023 events planning. His suggestions were also part of an attempt to rebellion.”
