Govt spends Rs1.2mn to catch rats in Parliament House

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to address the persistent rat infestation plaguing the Parliament House, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to employ hunting cats to catch the rats.

For this, a budget of Rs1.2 million has been allocated for pest control measure.

The rats have been causing significant damage across various departments of the Senate and the National Assembly, including gnawing through important files and documents in several offices.

“The CDA will take action to eradicate rats,” NA spokesperson said.

In addition to deploying hunting cats, the CDA will install special netted windows designed to trap rats.

Additionally, expertise of the private sector will be utilsed by the CDA to eliminate rats from the parliament building.
