19 August, 2024 14:36

The Islamabad High Court has barred a trial court from giving a final verdict in the 190 million pound case against former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi.

The Islamabad High Court adjourned the hearing in the case till Wednesday.

In an order, Justice Mian Gul Hassan and Justice Babar Sattar remarked that trial will continue. However, the high court barred the trial court from making final judgement in the case.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has stopped the Islamabad High Court from proceeding in the audio leaks case and issued notices to Bushra Bibi and Mian Najam ul Saqib.

According to the details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan heard the audio leaks case in the Supreme Court.

Justice Aminuddin Khan inquired whether the high court has determined who is recording the audio? The Additional Attorney General said that this has not been determined yet and the investigation is underway.

To which, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan said that unfortunately no one wants to reach the truth in this country. An inquiry commission was formed to find out the truth and it was stayed by the Supreme Court and the audio leaks case has not been fixed in the Supreme Court till date.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan said that when the parliament tried to know the truth, it was also stopped.
