Internet in Pakistan not fixing anytime soon
Internet services across are not going to be fixing any time soon, a report revealed on Monday.
The internet users are facing inconvenience for several days and is affecting all internet service providers.
Some of the social media platform also been impacted from the issue, with users complaining about facing difficulties even downloading audio messages.
Even, the mobile companies are facing the aforementioned issue and deny any involvement.
When asked about the issue from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the authority refused to comment on the matter.
Moreover, government’s move to regulate all social media platforms is also adding fuel to the issue.
Documents reveal that a categorization-based regulatory framework will be implemented after approval from the Federal Cabinet.
Under the new regulations, the companies are required to store data within Pakistan, additionally license holders will be obligated to provide location and general information when required.
Officials have indicated that ongoing work on a firewall could also contribute to internet service disruptions.
It is reported that the internet service issues may persist until August 30th.
