Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ faces another setback
Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ faces another setback as the Bombay High Court declined release of movie plea.
Justices BP Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla in their joint verdict stated that it could not issue directives to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to clear the film due to a prior order by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The court said issuing any relief would contradict the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s directive.
It directed the CBFC to review the objections raised against the film and finalize the certification by September 18.
The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for September 19.
The plea was filed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, who are a co-producer of ‘Emergency’.
The petition argued that the CBFC had arbitrarily withheld the certificate despite its readiness.
