Pakistan’s The Legend of Maula Jatt set to release in India

Pakistan’s blockbuster movie The Legend of Maula Jatt is set to be released in India next month, India Today reported.

The film was initially planned for December 2022 release, however, protest from Hindu far-right groups and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) forced the cancelation.

However, after gaining international fame, the Indian production house, Zee Studios, is reportedly planning to release the film in India on September 20, 2024.

The last time a Pakistani film made into Indian theaters was “Bol” in 2011 starring singer Atif Aslam and actress Mahira Khan.

While Pakistani films have faced challenges in getting theatrical releases in India, they have been screened at Indian film festivals.

Directed by Bilal Lashari, “The Legend of Maula Jatt” was released worldwide on October 13, 2022 and was a huge box office success.

The film features star studded cast including Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi and others.
