Public holiday on Defence Day?
A notification of public holiday on the Pakistan Defence Day has gone viral on social media, and left the masses confused whether it is fake or real.
However, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has clear the air by categorically denying the viral notification of a public holiday on September 6.
The ministry in a statement declared that the notification was entirely fake. “Spreading such misinformation is not only immoral and illegal but also an insult to the nation.”
“It is everyone’s responsibility to reject such irresponsible behaviour and refrain from sharing unverified information,” added the ministry.
It is worth mentioning here that, a fake notification was circulating on social media claiming that the government had announced a public holiday on Friday to commemorate Defence Day.
The Defence Day is observed every year on September 6th in remembrance of the 1965 Indo-Pak War, when Indian forces crossed the international border and launched an attack on Pakistan.
However, Pakistan’s Armed Forces managed to foil the Indian attack with courage and resolve.
