State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially announced the updated banking hours for Ramadan 2025, ensuring smooth financial operations during the holy month.
These revised timings will come into effect from March 4, 2025, as banks remain closed on March 2 for the annual Zakat deduction process.
Banking Hours in Pakistan for Ramadan 2025
According to the SBP notification, all banks will operate as per the following schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (No Break)
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM (No Break)
These timings will remain in effect throughout Ramadan, after which banks will automatically resume their regular working hours.
Nisab for Zakat 2025
The government has set the Nisab for Zakat at Rs. 179,689, applicable to savings accounts, profit and loss sharing accounts, and other specified accounts.
Zakat is deducted at a rate of 2.5% from accounts exceeding this threshold. Account holders who wish to exempt themselves from automatic Zakat deduction are required to submit Form CZ-08 (A & B) to the relevant authorities before the due date.

The holy month of Ramadan began in Pakistan on March 2, following the absence of a moon sighting on February 28. In light of the month’s significance, the federal government has launched a Ramadan relief package worth Rs. 20 billion, benefiting around four million families across the country.
