Will it rain in Karachi today?

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Saturday forecast heavy rainfall across the country including Karachi.

According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Karachi today (Saturday) and Sunday.

He warned of a possibility of urban flooding in low-lying areas. Monsoon winds are likely to affect the city from today.

The Met office said that the monsoon spell in the country is likely to continue till August 25, during which rain and thundershowers may occur in different districts of Sindh and Punjab.

On Friday rain was recorded in different parts of the country including Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Apart from this, many areas of Punjab including Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur also received rain. Heavy rains have also been recorded in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
