The fear of a ban on the Chinese application TikTok is looming in the United States. The House of Representatives will vote on the application-related bill next week.

According to foreign media, next week the US House of Representatives will vote on the bill related to the Chinese company ByteDance’s application Tik Tok. If the bill is approved, the company will be given six months time to share its data with the US or face a ban.

Earlier, the Energy and Commerce Committee of the United States has also approved an action against TikTok by 50 votes to zero, while former American president Donald Trump has also tried to ban TikTok.

Regarding the US actions, TikTok says that it has told the US authorities that the data of American users will not be shared with the Chinese government, however, Washington is violating the constitutional rights of its citizens to freedom of expression by banning TikTok.

TikTok further said the US ban would affect its own businesses and its artists would lose audience and the lives of millions of content creators in America would be affected.

According to media reports, there are more than 170 million American users on the Chinese application TikTok. Prior to the ban by the US authorities, lawmakers were briefed in a closed room on US national security concerns due to the Chinese ownership of TikTok.

On the other hand, TikTok users are calling Capitol Hill to record their concerns against a possible US ban on TikTok, urging lawmakers not to support the bill.
