Boy undergoes surgery after accidentally swallowing key

A team of doctors successfully removed a key from the stomach of a 5-year-old child in Lahore.
According to the administration of General Hospital, the incident involved a young boy from Sargodha who had accidentally swallowed a key.
The child’s parents, alarmed by their son’s distress and the unusual situation, rushed him to Lahore’s General Hospital. Upon arrival, the medical staff promptly initiated a series of diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the boy’s discomfort.
The hospital administration reported that the initial examinations confirmed the presence of the foreign object.
A medical team, skilled in handling such cases, proceeded with an endoscopy—a minimally invasive procedure that allows for the examination and removal of objects from the digestive tract. Through this procedure, the doctors successfully extracted the key from the child’s stomach.
