Karsaz accident: Sindh minister Saeed Ghani visits victim’s residence

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government, Saeed Ghani, visited the residence of Karsaz accident victims to offer condolences with the family.

Accompanied by provincial ministers and officials, Ghani met with the family and expressed his sympathies.

Ghani stated that he had gathered all relevant information regarding the incident and had spoken to all concerned officials.

He assured the family that no injustice would be tolerated and that the perpetrator, a woman driver, would be punished according to the law and Constitution.

The minister also met with doctors at Jinnah Hospital to obtain details about the incident and instructed the police to ensure that justice is served.

The case is currently under investigation, Ghani said, adding that he has has directed authorities to take necessary actions to ensure that the family receives justice.

Earlier in the day, a local court in Karachi on Wednesday sent Natasha Iqbal, accused of killing two people in a road accident on Karsaz Road, to jail on judicial remand.

The incident

Two people were killed when a speeding car rams into people on Karachi’s Karsaz road.

As per the police, the incident occurred when a high-speed white Prado, driven by a woman, lost control and rammed into a motorcycle, car, and several pedestrians.

Following the accident, the rescue sources rushed to the scene where they confirmed that two individuals had died on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital for medical services.

Meanwhile, a case was lodged against the female driver involved in the accident.

Police and Rangers had taken the woman driver, identified in the first information report (FIR) as Natasha, into custody.

The security personnel had later taken her to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a medical check-up as she also received an injury to her head.
