Karsaz accident: Natasha Danish keeps changing statement during interrogation
KARACHI: Sindh police has decided to form a special investigation team to probe the Karsaz road accident case registered against a woman driver Natasha Danish.
Inspector General of Sindh Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon said that an officer of senior superintendent of police (SSP) rank would work with the investigation team.
As per the investigation, the woman is a resident of KDA Scheme-I and was going to her mother-in-law’s house, situated at a distance of about 3-4 kilometers.
Natasha Danish’s medical report was delayed and it could take two to three more days to it to be received, investigators said.
The sources said the suspect kept changing her statement during the investigation.
According to the investigative sources, charges in the case were altered and the case was weakened by imposing Section 320 — which pertains to ‘unintentional murder’ (qatl bil khata) by negligent driving.
However, Section 322 of murder had been added in the case.
Section 322 states punishment about ‘murder on purpose’ (qatl bil sabab) which may be punishable by 10-18 years imprisonment in addition to the diyat money.
The family members could opt for the diyat money equivalent to 30,360 grams of silver, the sources said.

New CCTV
Earlier, a new CCTV footage of the Karsaz accident was emerged just days after a speeding SUV, being driven by female driver Natasha Danish, crushed father and daughter to death.
In the footage, obtained by GTV News, the SUV could be seen speeding in a service lane. The CCTV footage showed the SUV hitting a white color vehicle and a motorbike before crashing into the motorcycle, which led to the killing of 26-year-old Amna Arif and her 60-year-old father, Imran Arif.
It should be noted that the woman — who ran over Amna, Imran Arif and injured five others on Monday at the Karsaz Road — is currently in judicial custody following orders by a Karachi East court.
