PTI MNA claims he was offered Rs400mn for constitutional amendment support
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Iqbal Afridi has claimed that he was offered Rs400 million to support proposed constitutional amendments.
“I was offered Rs400 million to back the constitutional amendments. They were even willing to offer Rs800 million or more—up to Rs1 billion.
“I reject their money and proposals. I am a soldier of Khan. I have supported Imran Khan’s ideology since 1997-98, standing by him through countless sacrifices for real change.”
He further emphasised his loyalty to the former prime minister, saying, “During the regime change, I withstood oppression, never fled, stayed silent, or sold out.
Meanwhile, the federal government has ‘summoned’ a session of the National Assembly (NA) for passage of a proposed constitutional amendment.
As per details, the proposed draft for the 26th amendment in the Constitution of Pakistan will be presented before the lower house of the Parliament on October 18.
Sources said the lawmakers have been directed to reach Islamabad tomorrow.
