Star actress Mahira Khan has made public her heartfelt sentiments about the city of lights, Karachi, highlighting its unique characteristics.
Mahira Khan made an appearance in the Aalami Urdu Conference, where she expressed her deep admiration for Karachi.
She was asked by host Wasim Badami about good and a bad aspect of the city, she praised Karachi’s unmatched tolerance and inclusivity.
“Karachi doesn’t judge where a person comes from,” she remarked, calling it a melting pot of diversity in Pakistan.
The Karachi born actress shared her experience growing up among friends from Hindu, Agha Khani, and Bohra communities was a normal part of her life.
She noted that people in other cities are often surprised to learn about Karachi’s diversity, which she considers the Karachi’s essence.
“As a port city, it naturally embraces diversity and inclusivity, likening it to other cosmopolitan port cities around the world,” she added.
“People don’t take care of Karachi as much as the city takes care of its people,” she observed.
