MDCAT 2025 to Be Held Today Nationwide Amid Section 144 Enforcement
After the court order, the retake of Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is being held at 8 places in Sindh including Karachi.
The court had declared the October 26 test as fake because of the paper leak.
A total of 38, 609 candidates from all over Sindh are participating in the entrance test. Section 144 is imposed around University of Karachi and NED University in Karachi.
Candidates are prohibited from bringing any kind of digital devices and mobile phones.
It should be noted that 160,000 candidates participated in the MDCAT across the country earlier, however, cases were registered against more than 50 students on charges of copying and 2 students were also arrested.
Later, 15 candidates jointly filed a petition in the Sindh High Court alleging that the Dow University of Health Sciences conducted the MDCAT in the province on September 22 and allegedly a day before the examination several papers had come to light, raising doubts about the transparency of the examination process.
On October 4, the Sindh High Court, while hearing petitions against alleged irregularities in the MDCAT test, had ordered the re-conduct of the Medical and Dental College Entrance Test in 4 weeks.
