COAS says Punjab has become agricultural powerhouse of Pakistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said that Punjab has become an agricultural powerhouse of Pakistan.

The Chief of Army Staff while addressing the inaugural ceremony of agricultural projects said that the leadership role of Punjab province and its farmers in modern agriculture is commendable.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Mosadik Malik also attended the ceremony.

The COAS further said that these achievements in a short time under the Green Corporate Project are encouraging and a harbinger of development.

Gen Syed Asim Munir appreciated the efforts and achievements made under the Green Corporate Initiative of the Punjab government in a short span of time.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that the Green Agri Mall to provide quality seeds, fertilisers, pesticides to farmers at subsidised rates. It will also provide agricultural machinery, including drones to farmers at subsidised rent.  Under one roof, farmers will get all the facilities related to agriculture through one company.

5,000 acres of modern agricultural farm has also been inaugurated.

The chief minister said that the foundation of modern agriculture revolution has been laid in Cholistan.

She said that the development of agriculture is guarantee of prosperity of farmers and Pakistan.

She further said that the Green Pakistan is a revolution to promote modern agriculture.
