Pakistani diplomat barred from entering US over ‘corruption’

The United States on Monday reportedly barred a senior Pakistani diplomat form enter the country over corruption allegations.
According to report, Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ahsan Wagan was denied entry by the US immigration officials, when he arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport on a private visit.
It is reported that he is denied entry due to allegations of administrative corruption that surfaced during his previous posting in the US.
Based on these complaints, American authorities refused to allow the diplomat into the country, the publication claimed.
He is currently serving as Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter. However, diplomatic circles indicate that the incident is under investigation.
