Mustafa murder case: Father of key accused Armaghan arrested

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) has arrested Kamran Qureshi, father of Armaghan, the main accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case.

According to SSP AVCC Anil Haider, police arrested a drug dealer in Street 7, Bungalow No. 35, Khayaban Momin Phase 5, Gujari Karachi on a tip-off.

He said the arrested accused has been identified as Kamran Asghar Qureshi, the father of Armaghan, the main accused in the Mustafa murder case.

Haider said that a case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act and possession of unlicensed weapons and investigation is underway.

It may be recalled that Mustafa Amir was abducted on January 6 and then a month later on February 8, the police raided a bungalow in Defence Khayaban Momin area of Karachi to recover Mustafa Amir, during which they were fired upon. As a result,  three policemen, including DSP, were injured in the encounter.

Police detained the accused Armaghan, who revealed during interrogation that he, along with Shiraz, had put Mustafa in the compartment of his car and burnt him.
