Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, on Saturday, exchanging warm Eid ul Fitr greetings and reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
During the call, PM Sharif extended his best wishes to the Amir and the people of Qatar, which were warmly reciprocated. The Prime Minister fondly recalled his October 2023 visit to Doha and expressed gratitude for Qatar’s hospitality, particularly highlighting the Manzar cultural exhibition, which he attended alongside Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa.
PM Sharif proposed hosting a similar cultural exhibition in Lahore, an idea the Amir welcomed. Both leaders emphasized their shared interest in expanding trade and investment cooperation. To advance discussions, a Qatari delegation will visit Pakistan after Eid.
The two leaders also discussed regional developments, with PM Sharif commending Qatar’s diplomatic efforts, particularly in mediating peace initiatives for Gaza. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for a just resolution to the Palestinian crisis.
The Prime Minister renewed his invitation to the Amir to visit Pakistan at the earliest opportunity, underscoring the importance of high-level exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations.
The conversation reflected the enduring bond between Pakistan and Qatar, with both nations committed to enhancing collaboration in culture, economy, and regional diplomacy.
