Who is Noor Zaman? All about Pakistani squash player
Noor Zaman (born April 1, 2004, in Peshawar, Pakistan) is a prominent Pakistani squash player known for his significant contributions to the sport. Standing at 180 cm (5 ft 11 in) and weighing 60 kg (9 st 6 lb), Noor plays right-handed and has been active on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour since 2019. ​
Noor hails from a distinguished squash lineage; he is the grandson of former World Squash Champion Qamar Zaman. His early exposure to the sport, under the guidance of his coach Munawar Zaman, paved the way for his professional career.​
In 2022, Noor clinched the Boys’ Under-19 title at the Asian Junior Squash Championships held in Pattaya, Thailand, marking a significant milestone in his junior career. The following year, he was a vital member of the Pakistani national team at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. In a closely contested final against India, Noor faced Abhay Singh in the decisive match, narrowly losing in five games. Despite his efforts, Pakistan secured the silver medal in the team event. ​
Transitioning to the professional circuit, Noor achieved his first PSA title in December 2023 at the CAS Serena Hotels International Squash Championship in Islamabad, defeating Asim Khan in the final. His success continued in March 2025 when he won the 4th Liverpool Cricket Club Open, a $15k PSA Challenger Event, by overcoming Rory Stewart with a 3-0 victory in the final. ​K
As of March 31, 2025, Noor reached his career-high PSA world ranking of No. 67. In April 2025, he made history by becoming the first Pakistani male finalist at the inaugural Under-23 World Squash Championships, showcasing his continued ascent in the sport. ​
