Duchess Sophie Takes On Significant Role at Sovereign's Parade
Following King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to Italy, Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh took on a significant role, stepping in for the monarch while he and the Queen rested after their tour.
As reported by GB News, Sophie represented King Charles at the Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy on Friday.
During the event, Duchess Sophie inspected the troops of CC242, who had just completed 44 weeks of intense training. She shared warm moments with the cadets, exchanging smiles as she took part in the ceremony.
Royal photographer Mark Cuthbert shared photos from the event on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption, “Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh represents His Majesty King Charles at The Sovereign’s Parade at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.”
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla concluded their visit to Italy on Thursday. The royal couple toured Dante’s tomb and admired the world-renowned mosaics in Ravenna. As the king and queen arrived in the city’s historic center, thousands of Italians cheered, waving British flags. The trip also included a speech by King Charles at Italy’s parliament.
