Relief for Female Professionals: Islamabad to Have Special Working Women Hostel
The federal government has approved the construction of a hostel for working women in Islamabad, following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This step comes after the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Rights raised concerns about the lack of safe and affordable housing for women working in the capital.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has formally sanctioned the project and issued a notification to the Ministry of Education. According to the ministry’s secretary, the initiative is a much-needed solution to the growing residential challenges faced by working women.
New Hostel to Be Built in Sector I-9/4
The designated site for the Islamabad hostel for working women is:Sector I-9/4, where a current Special Education Center will be renovated into a hostel for women’s accommodation. This initiative is intended to provide affordable and safe accommodation, particularly for women coming from larger cities or rural communities who typically find rents unaffordable and do not have many choices.
The government aims to create an environment that is safer and more inclusive for professional women in Islamabad by facilitating the option of providing accommodation for women only.
