Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially resumed direct flight operations from Dubai to Skardu starting Friday, May 30, 2025. The move marks a major boost for tourism and connectivity between the UAE and Pakistan’s northern regions.

“To mark the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held at the PIA office in Dubai, attended by H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General. The event also welcomed members of a foreign tourist group traveling on the inaugural flight, underscoring the growing interest in Pakistan’s scenic northern areas,” a press statement issued here read.

The event was organized by PIA’s Regional Manager, Sarmad Aizaz, along with his team. The occasion was celebrated as a significant milestone in enhancing people-to-people ties and promoting tourism.

In another development, the national flag carrier has announced a new direct flight route from Lahore to Paris, scheduled to commence on June 18. This weekly service will complement the airline’s existing two weekly flights from Islamabad to the French capital.

PIA officials highlighted that this new route is expected to offer added convenience to passengers and help boost Pakistan’s foreign exchange earnings by catering to overseas Pakistanis and international travelers.
