ISLAMABAD— TikToker Sana Yousaf’s father, Syed Yousaf Hassan, revealed new details surrounding the fatal shooting of his daughter.
Speaking to the BBC, Sana’s father stated that Sana told her mother, “Eid is coming, I have to wash clothes, please go get detergent.” While her mother was away, the suspect entered the house, shot Sana, and fled.
Hassan cited the account of his younger sister—Sana’s paternal aunt—who was present in the house at the time. He said it remains unclear how the accused entered the home, noting that no men were present during the incident.
“As soon as he entered the house, the killer went straight into Sana’s room,” Hassan said. “At the time of the murder, my younger sister was also at home. She heard a sound like a balloon popping and ran toward Sana’s room. She saw the boy coming out of the room. When she tried to stop him, he pointed a pistol at her too. However, when the pistol didn’t fire, he ran away.”
Syed Yousaf Hassan added, “My sister chased him, thinking he was a robber. At that point, she didn’t know Sana had been shot. After the boy ran away and my sister returned home, she discovered that Sana had been shot, and she was then taken to the hospital.”
Recounting how he learned of the tragedy, Hassan said, “I was not at home that day but was sitting with a friend nearby when my friend got a call and informed me there was an emergency. After that, my wife also called and explained the whole situation. When I reached the hospital, I found out that Sana had passed away.”
TikToker Sana Yousaf was murdered in her own home in Islamabad on the evening of June 2, reportedly by 22-year-old Umar Hayat, also known as “Kaka,” a resident of Faisalabad. According to media reports, the suspect killed Sana after she repeatedly rejected his attempts to befriend her.
